Vicky left her earthly body behind on Wednesday, September 5, 2007,at City Hospital in Martinsburg, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Robert Troy and the late, Rita Grueser Troy.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her loving husband, Harold "Hal" Slaughter; one son, Ian Riley, of Colorado; two daughters, Tara Riley, of Huntington, WV, and Vanessa Page, of Huntington, WV; step-daughter, Jill Slaughter, of Frederick, Md; four grandchildren, Kiarra Smith, Nakoa Page,Carlus Page, Jr., Alfred "Tre" Nevels, III; one brother, Mark Troy, of Charleston; three sisters, Mary Anne Bowyer, of Barboursville, WV, Connie Cook, of Palm City,
FL and Amy Masters, of Berea, KY; and one new sister-in-law, Sue Racer Troy of Charleston.
Vicky graduated from Marshall University in Huntington, WV, and was a psychologist in private practice in Martinsburg for the past several years. Vicky loved her work and her clients, especially those with special needs.
Vicky's is buried at Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon, WV, though her true self, which lives on, is likely dancing, walking on a beach, looking with pride over her beloved children and grandchildren or catching up with her mother, grandparents or other loved ones.
Vicky would be honored by any memorial contributions made to PANCAN.org or the American Cancer Society. She would also be thrilled about any contributions made to her beloved Alma Mater.....MARSHALL!
